Mediation rooted in empathy and real-life experience
Conflict is a natural part of life, but it doesn’t have to mean the end of a relationship or ongoing tension. Whether it’s family, friends, work colleagues, or neighbours, I offer a supportive, confidential space to help you talk things through and find a way forward—together.
What is mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process where a neutral third party (the mediator) helps people in conflict have a constructive conversation. My role isn’t to judge or take sides, but to help everyone feel heard and understood, so you can work together toward solutions that suit you all.
Who is mediation for?
Mediation can help anyone experiencing conflict – whether you’re family members, friends, colleagues, or neighbours. If you want to talk things through and find a better way forward, mediation could be for you.
Situations I can help with
You might be surprised at how many situations mediation can help resolve. Here are some examples:
- Family disagreements (siblings, parents and children, extended family)
- Workplace or team conflicts
- Neighbour or community disputes
- Friendship breakdowns or misunderstandings
- Communication challenges in any relationship
If you’re not sure if your situation is suitable, just ask – I’m happy to talk it through.
How mediation works
- Initial chat: We start with a free, informal conversation to see if mediation is right for you.
- Mediation sessions: We meet (in person or online) for structured, respectful discussions in a safe space.
- Finding solutions: Together, we explore options and work toward agreements everyone can accept.
Special offer: free mediation sessions
I am currently completing my mediation training. As I transition into offering mediation services more widely, I am pleased to offer my services free of charge for a limited time.
This is a great opportunity for you to experience the benefits of mediation at no cost, while supporting my development as a practitioner. If you’re interested in resolving conflicts constructively and collaboratively, please get in touch – I’d be delighted to work with you.

About me
My name is Joe Roberson, and I offer mediation services grounded in empathy, lived experience, and a deep respect for the complexities of human relationships.
Why I mediate
Having navigated my own journey through relationship challenges, co-parenting, and personal growth – including work in non-violent communication, 12 Step recovery and co-dependency – I know first hand how communication can break down, and how painful unresolved conflict can be. I also know the healing power of being truly heard, and the transformation that’s possible when people come together with openness and care.
My approach
- Empathy first: I bring a non-judgmental, compassionate presence to every mediation. I understand that everyone’s story is unique, and I honour the courage it takes to seek resolution.
- Lived wisdom: My own life has taught me the value of patience, self-awareness, and the importance of boundaries. I’ve experienced the ups and downs of love, loss, and reconciliation, and I draw on this understanding to support others.
- Focus on resolution and healing: Whether you’re facing family disagreements, co-parenting challenges, or relationship ruptures, my goal is to help you move from tension and misunderstanding toward clarity, peace, and mutual respect.
- Safe, supportive space: I create an environment where all voices are valued, and difficult emotions can be expressed safely. My intention is not just to resolve disputes, but to foster lasting understanding and, where possible, gentle reconciliation.
What drives me
I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard and respected, even in the midst of conflict. My care for life and for people’s wellbeing is at the heart of my work. I am committed to helping others find their own path to resolution, closure, and, most importantly, inner peace.
